Using Thomas the Train Ornamental Pieces While Decorating your Child’s Room

Decorating your child’s room is fun for both you and your child. Choosing a theme for your child’s room is a good start. Thomas the Train cartoon series is very popular to kids and to cater to this market, there is a lot of Thomas the Train merchandise that you could use in decorating your child’s room. The following are few helpful hints that could help you while decorating!

Try to accessorize your child’s room. This could be done by adding a few age-appropriate furnishings like kiddie beds and tables. Another thing is you could use his toys in the process. Just like his Thomas the Train tank engine for example. You could set it up on his table to provide a centerpiece.

It is always helpful to ask your child how he or she wants his or her room decorated. It is not what parents think of is acceptable to the kids. Try asking them what theme they want to use on their room. After all, it is their room.

Try adding storage for their valuables. Of course what could be more valuable to them than your son’s action figures, model planes, cars, etc. or your daughter’s dolls, and stuff toys. Do the trick by adding a shelf above the window or a closet space for seldom used things.

A display area like a bulletin board is something that could adorn the room and at the same time boost his self-confidence. Bulletin boards could be used to display his art works or even photos of his friends. Some would even want to place cards and concert or movie tickets. Perhaps to-do-lists could even find its way there too!

Why not match the bed sheets or throw pillows to the window treatment for a coordinated look?

For your Thomas the Train inspired child’s room, try adding a Thomas the Train night light. This could be of great help to your child to find his way to the bathroom at night or perhaps reassure a child who is afraid of the dark.

Display your child’s photo with the Thomas the Train photo frame in his room say on his bedside table. Doing this helps him build his self-esteem.

Try engaging your child to decorate with you. Like for example on his activity table in his room, why not ask him to create his own table decorations. He might want his Thomas the Train tank engine set up on the table. This way he could de-stress from the tiring day and perhaps have his attention focused on the dinner to come.

You could also replace the ordinary switch plates in your son’s room to the Thomas the Train switch plates. This way it would be easier for him to recognize which switch to use to turn on his lights in his room.

Try hanging lightweight ornamental items like the Thomas the Train lanterns from filament line attached to a ceiling-mounted cup hook. This way you could keep them out of harm’s way and at the same time be able to see them.

Use candle lamps to light your son’s room at night. Thomas the Train offers candle lamps that are perfect for your son’s room.

Try cutting out pictures or drawing pictures with your son that could help decorate his room. Ask him to draw pictures of trains or railways that could be placed on his bulletin board.

Be sure to keep a close eye on your son especially when he is cutting out pictures. He might accidentally cut himself so be sure to watch him closely.

If it's nearing Christmas, you child might want to have his own Christmas tree in his room. Get him a small tree that could sit on his table and ask him to decorate it - it doesn’t have to be Christmas balls or stars, he could place his small Thomas the Train ornament and/or collectibles on it if he wishes! This way he could have fun decorating his room. And come to think of it, he might not want to remove this tree for what are hanging there are his favorite small toys.

Decorating is fun. It doesn’t have to be expensive or tiring to get your child’s room a new look. Just by a little creativity and a few key elements, you’ll surely get the kick!
